The 2 Things Ham Lake Web Design Heres From Clients Most Often

Please Create Immediate Credibility

I’ve asked clients for years what is the most important item you need from your website? In most instances I’m told I need my website to create immediate credibility for my business. The website is a window to the business and an informational, visually pleasing, easy to navigate website will generate more calls, emails and texts from potential customers. In addition, I’m told that the website is their brochure. Sales people and marketers will refer customers to the website for more information and the website needs to confirm to the visitor the business is credible. It’s important that the website is an accurate reflection of the company as it is in 2024.  It’s generally considered that companies will be evaluated in seconds to whether or not it’s worth it to investigate doing business with them. Thinking about this for a moment…assuming you’re interested in a particular company what do you do? You go to their website and evaluate whether or not you want to advance this relationship.

Ease of Process

Clients are always busy. I’ve been told that while they recognize the need for a website they are fearful of the time it takes and they don’t know where to start. The sigh of relief I see and here when speaking with clients is when I tell them I can take care of almost all of all the tasks on a website buildout. I’ll make it easy. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and I’ve learned that provide imagery and text is very beneficial to clients. The last couple of sites I launched my client did nothing but send me a few images and edit the site. They told me that they spent about an hour or two working on the website. I did the rest. It’s a win win. They get a site with minimal time on their part and I get the site done quickly.

Let me explain the process for most websites.

Initial talk about the goals and needs of the website. I provide a plan based on the conversation. The plan is reviewed, edited and approved. I then go about working that plan.

Typical items in the plan.

  1. Obtain a domain name (I can buy the domain if needed and provide potential names) or gain access to the current domain.
  2. Set up the domain on a hosting plan. Clients can choose their own or use my hosting plan at Hostgator. If clients already have a website I build the site on one of my development domains then transfer the approved website to their domain.
  3. Client sends me needed infomation and imagery. If they don’t have either I obtain or create the images and write the text. Imagery and text are presented for client approval on the development site.
  4. I build out a home page. We make needed edits then build out the remaining pages for editing.
  5. Once edits are complete I make sure the site operates as intended on phones and pads. See this article for more info.
  6. I do the initial SEO using Yoast.
  7. If using Hostgator I set up any needed email accounts. It’s possible I can do this on other services too.
  8. Upon approval we launch the website.

This process takes about two weeks.
