Responsive Web Design from the Ham Lake Web Design Point of View.

A Multifaceted Statement

For web designers responsive web design refers to ones ability to create websites that work as intended on multiple devices. Typically computers, phones and tablets. We as web designers can make sure websites operate as intended on almost any device. I say almost because I did have a client running Window’s 95. Modern websites don’t run on Windows 95. Moving on, your website can be designed so folks on computers get basically the same experience on a phone or tablet. Yes there are some differences but when all is said and done the website will do it’s job on all modern devices. This is accomplished by employing responsive designs. Designs that respond according to the device the website is being viewed on. For me the process is to design the site for the computer then make needed adjustments for phones and tablets.

It’s an accepted stat that WordPress is the platform run by 43% of websites. The WordPress platform allows me to use many tools to create responsive websites. I also employ a front end editor that allows me to emulate how a website will operate on phones and tablets on the fly and adjust them accordingly.

Fast Response to Client Needs

Responsive web design also includes responding to client needs. I have found that responding quickly to client requests and needs creates happy clients. My goal is to respond, and quickly! Clients who ask for edits on a live site or one in progress get a response from me as quick as possible. I take pride in responding. Many times I’ve stopped what I’m doing to make edits for a client and I’m proud of that.

When you hire me to build your website you will get top-notch service during the build out and after the launch. In fact once your website has been completed most edits are simple and I can get them done quickly. And in most cases free. It’s been said that websites are never 100% complete and I believe it to be true. If you find needed edits after the launch of your website I make them quickly. As in within 24 hours or faster if it’s a high priority for my client.

Building a fully responsive website takes me a week or so. Editing and maintaining a website with responsive service is a life skill I value and you will too.
